Christian Boer Goats started just two and a half years ago with no idea of what we were getting into. It started out just as a few pets for the kids, and it has turned into a complete joy for the whole family. If you don't raise pigs, cattle, or sheep when you are born and raised in southwest MN, you would normally be seen as a little strange. Now, after two years, people ask on a daily basis how the goats are doing---the interest is stronger every day.
My wife and I both showed livestock in county and state fairs, and we also wanted our children to have the same good experience that we did. So the goats fit our family just perfect. It was easy to decide when our son said, "Dad, do we get to keep our show wether?" especially after he had shown sheep for three years and gladly let them go.
As our family has grown in the goat business, we are excited to try and raise the best boer goats that we possibly can. |
